Just Mortgages helps create more ‘Magic Moments’ with £12,000 charity donation

Leading national brokerage Just Mortgages has announced that £12,000 was raised by its staff for its chosen charity, the Magic Moments Children’s Charity.

Magic Moments was set up in 1998 by Alick and Val Smith. Alick was the then Chairman of Spicerhaart, the UK’s largest independent estate agency.

The charity is dedicated to helping children with life-limiting illnesses and their families experience the holiday of a lifetime at Disneyland Paris. As the Fantasy Charity Fund and later Magic Moments, it has raised well in excess of £1 million over the years.

In addition to annual trips to Disneyland, any further funds in the charity pot have historically been used to provide vital equipment such as electrical appliances and hoists, as well as toys and supplies for the children’s hospices.

Magic Moments currently supports 13 children’s hospices that are situated close to Spicerhaart branches across the country, allowing staff to get involved and see the difference the fundraising makes.

Just Mortgages’ fundraising efforts culminated at their recent two-day Lender Fayre in Birmingham, with a charity auction helping to top-up funds. Greg Smith, learning and development manager at Just Mortgages also had copies of his children’s book “Jess and her Fabulous Friends” for sale at the event, with all proceeds going to the charity.

For a donation, Just Mortgages even offered Magic Moments flip flops to those looking to ditch their heels as the dancefloor opened.

The contribution helps towards the charity’s annual fundraising target of £75,000.
